The Grave of Shiso Kanakuri
Shiso Kanakuri, who is known as the father of marathon running in Japan, was born in Nagomi Town, Tamana City (formerly Harutomi Village), and he became the first Japanese athlete to take part in the Olympics. He spent his later years in Oda in Tamana City, and he focused on promoting sports all across the country. He passed away at the age of 92, and his grave is located near his residence in Oda.
